I’m Sarah from Kitchener, Ontario and I’ve been a vegetarian for about 6 years now.  It’s not that long relative to my age! But, this whole 6 years I have been curious about vegan cooking.  I’ve acquired quite a collection of vegan cookbooks and do use them on occasion – much more recently.  I’ve also read a few articles and books on the animal farming industry and watched a few documentaries on being vegan.

There are negative implications of the way the meat industry (dys)functions today, and its concerning to say the least.  I realize eating vegan is not an option (nor is it desired) for many people.  That’s cool.  I’m not writing this blog to convert people to veganism.  I just think we could do better.  This is my take on things.

This blog serves as a way for me to share my experiences of adopting a vegan diet for the month of March 2013.  I hope to share stories, recipes, cooking successes and failures, and hopefully some appealing photos of yummy food!  Maybe I’ll spark your interest in vegan cooking and maybe, if you’re someone who doesn’t much care for vegetables, you’ll find something here to make eating your veggies a pleasure and a joy (or at least bearable).


Will I find a vegan brownie recipe as good as this non-vegan version? I hope so.
